New Gas Mask Bug Kills Players In Combat Zone Season 3

It looks like players need to be careful when using gas masks again in Call of Duty: Warzone – but this time in Season 3.

Gas masks in Warzone are a way to stay in a poisonous gas cloud for a while. This is a temporary fix that takes around 10-15 seconds depending on the type of gas mask being used, but is designed to give players enough time to escape danger.

However, lately, what should have been a lifesaver is now causing a new wave of stress among players. It seems that gas masks are once again plagued with a defect that reduces their protection. With the HUD, latency can cause the gas mask to be at full stamina, but the actual stamina band when equipped can be significantly lower.

Redditor u/phenomzye posted a clip on Reddit about experiencing these recently deteriorating gas masks.

In the clip, fenomzye is seen at full power with the gas mask stamina band on the lower left HUD. But as soon as the gas cloud approaches and the player puts on the mask, the total stamina immediately drops down a single lane, causing the phenomenon to die within seconds.

The message reads: “I would like to lose 14 kill matches due to a HUD error (gas mask went to 1 full bar)”.

This defect indicates that the gas masks are fully durable, even if the actual durability is much lower due to previous use by another player. This naturally forces players to remove the gas mask and wait for it to be at full power, then switch to a sudden drop while using it.

Others also seem to have encountered this defect. User Numberonebarista replied: “I knew the gas mask was broken!” mentioned.

“There was a moment last week where I was born again and I was coughing and gasping with a mask on and losing my health again.”

AnotherDude1 said: “We lost the game in resurrection last weekend for the same reason. A teammate wore a mask and ran with gas, and you could see his life turned upside down in the gas mask.

This isn’t the first gas mask bug to affect Warzone “fixed” in years. But now that he’s new to the game, it looks like players will have to bank on their gas masks for now.

An official patch from Raven Software has yet to be announced, but hopefully the patch isn’t too far off.
