Nick “NICKMERCS” Colchef explained why he thinks Apex Legends is better than Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone.
Recently, NICKMERCS was recognized as one of the most popular content creators for Call of Duty: Warzone, the spin-off of the Activision military shooter franchise. But somewhere along the way, amid bugs, cheating, and alleged lack of developer interest, the warring royal left Warzone Respawn Entertainment, rivaling Apex Legends.
Since then, NICKMERCS has certainly not kept the favorite of the two a secret. While he’s occasionally returned to COD, the creator has openly declared his love for Apex on Warzone and has now summed it up in a new video on his YouTube channel.
NICKMERCS does not verbally explain his reasoning for about nine minutes, halfway through the video. He said what initially interested him in Apex was the rank mode. He explains that the visual reflection of his evolution – his ability to cash in on these diplomas and see them go up – has been a major driving force for him.
Referring to various opponents such as Fortnite and of course Warzone, “You might want to move on and improve. Not many other games we play,” he said. Yes, it has its own characteristics, the disadvantages are of course, but you can always progress, improve and have fun and have fun at the same time.
In this way, Apex allows players to gauge their perceived in-game abilities based on how the game sees them on the battlefield. The leaderboard itself also has several sub-categories, for example Challenger League – provides additional stages for NICKMERCS.
“Really amazing. You keep climbing,” he said, “he just keeps going. The bar is getting higher and higher, which is fun for a guy like me. Y’all know how high I am competitive. I love finding things. The grind – and the more you break this game, the more you’ll realize how difficult it is.”
Apex levels was another direction he pointed before returning to the game, as a Valkyrie he seemed completely happy with teams.
