Respawn is planning an April 1 event for Apex Legends

The Respawn Entertainment developer has confirmed that April Fool’s Day is an event for Apex Legends. Players are well aware of the dangers of April 1 when it comes to new content. No matter the game or genre, developers love silly changes from fans or new content that later turns out to be wrong. In recent years, the developers have taken another step forward, aiming to remove it altogether in the coming weeks, allowing gamers to actually play the entertaining content.

Over the years, Apex Legends has owned the Golden Mozambique Pistol, making it one of the worst weapons in the game, a spectacular masterpiece. That’s where lead producer Josh Medina comes from. In a recent Twitter post where he talked about the amazing changes Epic Games made around the Fortnite building, he asked what the Apex Legends equivalent would be.

The Apex Legends editor replied and asked if this was related to the April Fool’s Day event. Apparently not, because it is already planned. “No, we have already closed since it’s been 2 weeks.”

It will be interesting to see what Respawn does, hope gold does more than Mozambique. It’s also unfortunate to see changes made to Fortnite so late, as they may have inspired Respawn to do something more challenging.
