Legends Crypto and Wattson are unlikely to get a complete overhaul

Apex Legends Season 14 has just arrived, and we’re still figuring out what the meta is all about.

One of the most popular legends, Valkyrie, recently threw a tantrum, but according to some of the game’s top players, it’s still a viable choice.

What about other legends like Crypto and Wattson? They haven’t been part of the methane lately, and it doesn’t look like they will be anytime soon. They have never been the first choice of players and they are not very popular, they correspond to a certain style of play. Neither defense nor attack.

According to the creator of Apex Legends, both legends won’t see a major overhaul in the near future.

“We’re always careful not to take them out of the playstyle, because I think characters like Crypto or Wattson have a very special place in Apex gameplay,” said design director Evan Nikolic. Things that will make them meta if we want those characters. But the goal is not to make every character good in every way.”

It looks like the developers would rather add minor tweaks to these characters than a complete overhaul. It makes sense – it wouldn’t be fun to see one of the characters go crazy all the time.

This will take away from the diversity of the game and the fun of using different characters. Instead of reviewing a particular legend that is already part of the meta, you can try to compete against other non-meta legends.
