Less than 24 hours after the start of Season 14, Apex Legends has once again broken the personal record for most competitive player of all time on Steam.
Since releasing on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (via Origin) on February 4, 2019, and on Steam on November 4, 2020, Apex Legends continues to climb as one of the most popular games of all time.
Apex Legends hit another milestone on Steam today with 511,676 competitive players. The old record was broken at the launch of S13 with 412,556 players.
Yes, it was literally +100K last season.
Probably because it’s a dead game and #NoApexAugust 😇 pic.twitter.com/kT4ivGDMOI

According to SteamDB, Apex Legends broke the all-time high with 412,556 concurrent Steam players set on May 11, hitting a new all-time high of 511,676 players approximately 20 hours into Season 13 on the Valve launcher.
This is the eighth highest concurrent player count of all time on Steam.
Ultimately, this is perhaps unsurprising considering that despite the recent #NoApexAugust boycott, the title has periodically broken Steam player count records at the start of new seasons for the past two years.
Apex Legends Season 14, titled Hunted, was released on August 9 for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Origin, via Steam).
The new season specifically brought a new Legend called Vantage, a wider range of weapons, changes to Legends and loot, an updated Kings Canyon map, and an increased level cap.
