You can create a mobile heat shield using Vantage’s Echo Companion. Vantage was introduced as the final character in Apex Legends. Vantage came out with season 14 and became a total fan favorite.
The Vantage kit includes many skills, including Spotter’s Lens and Sniper Mark. These abilities allow the Vantage to locate enemies and detect mirage traps. Vantage also has Echo, a flying companion who can jump to gain an advantage over enemies.
However, players have found creative new ways to use Echo. Redditor SmithyButBig posted a clip on Apex Legends Reddit where they use the Echo as a mobile heat shield.
In the clip, the player has to turn but faces the region stop. Somehow, the player managed to throw a heat shield at Echo’s head and then soared into the sky. After landing in the air, the player can move freely around the area as the barrier created by the heat shield will follow them wherever they go.
Similar cheats have been used in Warzone, but this is the first time in Apex Legends. In Warzone, the developers haven’t deprived players of the ability to install traffic systems or gas shields on vehicles, but it’s unclear whether Respawn will meet this standard.
It seems inevitable that Vantage will be upset, but time will tell.
