Apex Legends Season 14 kicks off on Tuesday, and with that comes a necessary adjustment. These changes may not completely change the current meta, but rather add balance.
Valkyrie was undoubtedly one of the most frequently picked Legends in the game. Almost every team had a Valkyrie. And for good reason, everything was good there.
But with the start of Season 14, Valkyrie got a much-needed cow. The hardest hit in the patch notes were VTOL Jets and Skyward Dive. Skyward Dive received a 25% reduction in max height and now takes half a second longer to cast.
However, the VTOL Jets were hit harder. The most significant changes are “activation acceleration decreased by approximately 8%” and “activation fuel consumption increased by 33%”. And it moves slowly when fired in the air.
These are big changes for the popular legend, but according to one of its biggest users, NICKMERCS, it’s still part of the meta.
Losing Valkyrie’s ability to wield her lightsaber was something that was considered but never materialized.
Valkyrie is still one of the best legends when it comes to movement, and movement is still one of the main things every Apex player should consider.
