As in any multiplayer game, there will always be a meta. Apex Legends currently finds itself in a meta where players want changes.
The current meta revolves around learning movement and enemies. The two legends that embody this are the Seer and the Valkyrie. Valk is one, if not the best legend, for movement because of his jetpack. And Seer’s tactical and ultimate abilities make him one of the best rampant legends.
Gibraltar is another frequently encountered legend, especially in competitive game modes. The most difficult contract for a Gibraltar is another Gibraltar.
Players want this current meta to change. Instead of three or four of them dominating the playing field, they want an equal playing field for all the legends.
Initially, there would be no changes after the ALGS. But ALGS is over and with DarkZero as the champion, those changes could be on their way.
In a Twitter thread, editor and contributor TSM Dunk requested a meta change so that we see certain captions less often. Along with the meta changes, Dunk talked about adding another competitive card. This second map would change the competitive landscape as players would have more variety.

Apex Legends Lead Producer Josh Medina commented on Dunk’s tweet saying that changes are on the way. This is big news for the Apex landscape, as big changes are on the way.
Medina has neither approved nor denied the addition of another competitive map. Therefore, it is very possible that a second competitive map will be released with the next meta-update.
These changes currently don’t have a timeline, but Season 14 is expected to launch in the middle of next month.
