The Apex Legends leak may have shown fans gameplay footage of an upcoming energy gun called “Fanatic”.
Reddit user u/Pretty_Chard5030 posted appropriate grainy photos on Tuesday showing a gun in action on the Apex Legends Firing Range. The footage shows a model of the RE-45 pistol that Respawn allegedly used as a placeholder during testing and fired high energy density bursts. It dampens its shot and appears to coat the target’s retina in crackling electricity before firing.
The gun deals high damage per shot and shows the amount of ammo left before reloading, and a stripe appears on screen while firing.
Pretty_Chard5030 images show possible changes in firing range, including reprogrammable and moving targets.
Respawn Entertainment has not commented on the footage. The dev studio recently added a new weapon, the CAR SMG, to Apex Legends Season 11. This season arrived directly on the servers on November 2 last year.
