The new leak revisits the third possible element of survivability, ranged banner retrieval. This new item will make it easier for your teammates to find banners.
Currently, Apex Legends only has two survival items. The heat shield is applied to the outside of the ring to prevent damage. The second is the mobile respawn beacon which does exactly what it says: it’s a respawn beacon that you can place anywhere. Ranged Banner Recovery will be the third survival item added to Apex.
Finding banners on Apex is now an extremely dangerous task. A team member must sneak around enemies to revive their teammate, and survival is not guaranteed. Then, as soon as squad members respawn, they’re left with nothing but their fists to defend themselves as they fight for weapons.
Apex dataminer and YouTuber iLootGames discussed the leaked item in their YouTube video. He also noted that this item won’t actually be added to Apex and it’s possible the item will be “moved”. However, he later states that it’s possible Respawn is waiting for the perfect time to release this item.
Details such as the maximum distance at which the item will still work and whether using the item will warn enemies are unknown. Also, how the item is used is not yet known.
Only time will tell if Respawn will actually release this item in-game if little more than memory holds.
