Apex players will eventually be fined for leaving teams in Control Matches.
The Apex Legends developers have announced that they are investigating players who are not being penalized in Control LTM through their Trello boards. So far, players haven’t suffered any adverse effects from leaving control of their team mid-match, which is normal for matches.
Control was the first LTM to hit Apex in minutes and was widely welcomed by players. Players grouped into teams fight for control of specific points on the map, must earn a total of 1250 points or pass full ownership of the territory to win.
Take control, new limited time game mode, unlock the latest legend of Mad Maggie or fight the sabotage of Olympus.

Naturally, the diet depends on the presence of effective detachments. So having one or two teams behind puts them at a serious disadvantage. Without a penalty for ending a match, the frequency of this is noticeably higher than usual. Fortunately, that seems to be changing.
No timeline has been set for when we’ll see reviewers leave for verification, so it’s unclear if we’ll see it before the LTM ends. Currently, Control will be available until March 1, but Respawn plans to bring it back in the future, likely with some tweaks.
The tag assigned to the post on the Trello board indicates that changes will be made at any time in the next patch.
