Players shouldn’t expect any drastic changes to their Legend, as Respawn developers have suggested they want to maintain consistency ahead of the ALGS Championship.
The Apex Legends devs suggest they won’t get much attention or nerfs to the game’s current Legends roster, citing that they don’t want to make too many changes before the ALGS Championship. With another Legend joining the Season 13 roster, it’s become difficult to keep everyone balanced and cohesive.
It becomes increasingly difficult to make smooth and versatile changes, as the Apex community demands that a variety of lovers and nerds appear when the roster is so diverse.
It looks like the devs don’t want to make any changes to the meta before the World Series. Live Balance Designer John JobsLarson In a discussion on Twitter, they said they “didn’t want the boat to move too much ahead of Shamps with teams driving a particular meta.”
I played around with it a bit, but in the end I thought it might force a third option to be an overhaul where we’d actually have less legend variety (i.e. Valk + Gibby + BH /Crypto/Seer).
He also didn’t want to hit the boat too hard in front of the Champs with teams training for a particular meta.

The announcement came in response to a discussion where players discussed fine nerfs that spread through legends at 90%+ pick speed.
While Larson said the developers came up with the idea of creating Valkyrie and Assault types of toys, they ultimately felt that would hamper the legend’s diversity.
While Respawn isn’t ready to make changes until the big esports event, professional games and experiences often follow the changes. Depending on how we view the ALGS game, some buffs and nerfs going to Apex in the near future could possibly pile up.
