Apex Legends: Saviors, as expected, the new season is dominated by a plethora of clips on Beth Royal’s latest legend, Newcastle.
However, in addition to discovering how to challenge his ultimate abilities and uncovering an achievement that silences all of their rebirths, players seem to have found a trick that gives the Newcastle superhero a whole new meaning.
Officially called the Fortress Wall, the Newcastle Ultimatum was designed primarily to allow him to jump and collide with a target, ally, or territory and create a fortified fortress.
Newcastle can jump 35 yards to anchor their wall. This ability jumps up to 75 meters when selecting an active member of his team.
Whether intentionally or not, some uses allow Newcastle to triple that distance and fly up to around 200 yards – locking a teammate’s death box, as Apex Legends content creator RossTheeSquirrel shows in a recent YouTube video.
“Madness, there doesn’t seem to be a height barrier for this,” RossTheeSquirrel said in the video. “For example, I was able to fly Skyhook buildings in the mountains. [Bloodhound’s] You are wrong. “In order for you to see an Unlearned Banner, you must first be able to fly towards it.”
RossTheeSquirrel also pointed out that the craziest thing about it all was that Newcastle’s ultimatum only came back 70% because he never got on the wall.
This use case seems misleading considering Newcastle couldn’t place it on their wall, players are only paid 30% of their salary for it, and it’s not very out of place in the action .
As others have noted in RossTheeSquirrel’s YouTube comments section, this may be the mechanic Respawn Entertainment should have left in the game.
“There’s only one use case,” said one user, “to get to your teammate’s killbox faster. Since this requires a teammate, it won’t help you avoid a fight or a faster return. [an] An active banner that has already run or completed this rotation and is sacrificing yours [life] “The right to move faster at Newcastle is basically a bad trade and therefore not really wasted.”
Ultimately, it will be interesting to see if Respawn ends in Season 13 as players continue to find new horizons to take the Newcastle squad to their limits.
