We have less than a week left in Apex Legends Season 13: Saviors, which means the jury is still out on how to take on the game’s newest legend, Newcastle.
Newcastle is a defensive class character that is all about protecting the team from fire on allies and reviving teammates in safe positions. So while Heroic Defender would be a great fit for almost any team, here are the top three Legendary players to watch with Apex Legends Season 13: Saviors.
Are the real heroes back?

Right now, perhaps the first myth that comes to mind when thinking of useful mating issues with Newcastle is the Rampart. Considering Amped Modder also recently got a buff, pairing the two is definitely worth it, as both have the ability to circle around a building’s walls to create cover in combat. While it might seem redundant to use Rampart’s extended cover with Newcastle’s fortress wall, it’s worth noting that Newcastle’s ultimate alone acts more like a brief argument over a full safe haven like the dome of Gibraltar, because it is not so durable. M600 Spitfire available on Meta. So adding the Sheila Minigun alongside Rampart’s Amped Cover could make for some great gameplay.
Probably the most pointless pick on this list, Valkyrie is kind of a pointless suggestion as it applies to almost every Legend in the game right now. Although Valkyrie Gibb’s match has been one of the best formulas in the game for quite some time due to her domed shield, she can still give her ultimate the protection she needs while in flight, it works twice with Newcastle. The Hero Guardian can use her movable shield to defend the team, while Valkyrie performs the skyscraper sink and when she lands she can use her castle wall if needed to create space.
Finally, while the development team at Respawn Entertainment says they want to “fight the shield meta” so they don’t raid, the truth is that they haven’t made any changes yet. Therefore, now may be the time to purchase a dual-tank composition. Although Fortified Perk is a bit of a stretch, there are only two characters all around that do 15% less damage, but the episode itself is quite disturbing. Additionally, both can, of course, vary their defensive abilities to keep the team on their feet as much as possible.
