As we head into Season 13 of Apex Legends: Saviors, it’s safe to say that many in the community wanted a bit of a Lifeline remake.
At Defiance, Lifeline maintained a moderate pick rate, indicating that it was neither too weak nor too strong. However, it’s no secret that, at least at a higher level of play, combat medicine is far from an effective choice. According to Devan McGuire, Senior Game Designer at Respawn Entertainment, players shouldn’t hold their breath for Lifeline’s upcoming changes.

During a Q&A press conference for Apex Legends: Saviors, McGuire announced that “no changes will be made to Lifeline in Season 13.”
Lifeline has been the target of frequent criticism from those dissatisfied with her kit over the seasons, with complaints specifically targeting her passive combat medicine ability and Care Pack ultimate abilities. The most powerful in-game version of Lifeline was that the DOC plane had the ability to resuscitate players with an unbreakable shield, forcing enemy teams to rely on Lifeline despite being able to continue firing at stealthed and revived teammates .
Respawn has finally landed the current version of Lifeline, which still allows her to use her drone to revive and protect players, but without the shield. It works pretty well, and many think it goes well with Lifeline’s revival, but her other abilities could be used for some work.
While Respawn will continue to assess and evaluate their team, Lifeline is less inclined to prioritize recycling at this point due to the overall pace of their healthy picks.
McGuire also expressed concern over Lifeline being replaced by Newcastle, arguing that they both play different roles as the medic has the ability to remotely resurrect two teammates at once, and the hero eliminates downed allies while protecting them. Taken.
