A statement from Dexerto’s Callum Patterson may indicate that the Apex Legends devs might want to release future Legends.
It’s no secret that Apex fans have seen an influx of playable characters since the game’s inception. After Season 1 2019, each season has its own title legend – where the developers released Octane. This trend continued until next season when fans were eagerly waiting to see Bangalore’s sibling Newcastle. However, this has led to what some are calling the roster overcrowded, and the cult of Apex gamers are worried about what this will mean for the next game.

Recently, Dexerto Callum Patterson had the opportunity to speak with some of the developers on the Apex Legends team. As worries about the game list have become too much for gamers, it’s no surprise that a few questions are being asked for future releases.
According to lead character designer Devan McGuire, Respawn is aware of this issue and recognizes that it may not always be the best plan going forward.
“Whether or not this pattern continues is an ongoing debate and may not change, but we don’t want to saturate the pool. [of Legends]”mentioned.
McGuire went on to explain that the developers were primarily focused on the shooter, not every mythos and idiocy that set them apart. However, he explained, as more mythos are created and added, it becomes more difficult for them to be “unique without being extra or very niche”.
Because of this, the developers may end up with a “breaking point” where it’s not possible to add another legend each season, or it benefits the game.

Apex Legends lead artist Christina Feres explained that creating viable legends goes beyond struggles. Splitting Legends instantly is important to ensure the best gaming experience. The task of creating a unique look and silhouette is what makes the process so difficult to move forward.
While none of the team members have confirmed the slowdown, it’s clear that adding a new legend each season may not be in the best interest of playtime, of course. , given the challenges associated with the arrival of new characters.
