Editor’s note 47 – Your event and more people every day? – Danger room –

word from publisher is the opinion column Pedro F Medina @Studio_Kato), editor-in-chief, responsible for licensing and social networks fandogami and journalist disguised as an entertainer at comic and manga events

Ficomic, year 2062. Authors hands up and accreditation goes by word of mouth. PIP-PIP-PIP Security arc! SOMEONE SIGNED THE DARK AGE STATEMENT WHILE TRYING TO GO THROUGH THE DOORS!! Gunshots are heard. Echoes of bodies. Another day at Comic BCN.

It’s not unsuccessful. Cómic returns from Barcelona (formerly Salón del Cómic, formerly Ficomics, formerly la nada) and hears the hum of war drums again. For better or worse, they roar instead of roaring percussion when dragged, eaten, exhausted. For those who do well, because they do not have the strength for more and only want to sleep for a week. For those who have had a bad period, because depression reaches the second half-basement of the soul and the current account. When you return from the battlefield there is only black and white, the four colors remain on the paper.

Neither luck nor luck for Comic Barcelona: it comes scrutinized. The fattest event in comics in general. Everything is sold here, inside and out, manga, American comics, manga, dirty keychains that have been in stores for ten years, fanzines, manga and most importantly manga. But not everything goes. No no no. Even if thirty thousand people show up for three days and you get so freaked out you think you can draw something from your little exhibition space. Yes, the organization says there will be a hundred thousand participation, but I say orange, so I understand that we have a technical connection.

The Barcelona you’re in has a lot to do with it, and it depends roughly on how much money you’re willing to spend. It’s not a competition that rewards attention. The bigger and more expensive you are, the more focused and positioned you are, resulting in more visibility and eventual sales. No mystery. In order not to make this obvious, I set up a booth for eighteen years under very different circumstances. A poorly overtaken aisle gives the grandstand your butt in front of you, a column without control, a series of signatures blocking access to your space, and you can now sell your soul to Stan Lee if you invest. Imagine that 98,530 of the 100,000 people who said they had gone through the event remained without even seeing you out of the corner of their eye. So I try to make my cabin look painful with a bright orange that can be seen from miles away. So F’s fans found us at a glance, and the careless approach was as dazzling as moths to the light.

Shooting situation aside, you have many more things under your control. It’s a beginner’s fault to go without your best-selling spare parts. There’s no point in leaving your news until next week. People come to Barcelona with boxes, boxes, and boxes of comics because you never know which will sell better, and there’s no greater fear than being stranded on a Saturday. Barcelona comes with everything new. With all the authors. With newly printed business cards. With lots of coins to have the courage for change and illusion. You come to Barcelona to dream. And burning money like a cryptolai, because the city is very expensive. You get a cup of coffee with milk and it comes with a needle as a gift.

Anyway, as I’ve always been rambling, I took the trouble to post an official review that I hope will help you, the Tripadvisor Model, or some bar app.

Activity: Funny Barcelona.
Place: Plaza España, Fira Montjuïch, Barcelona, Palaces 2 and 5.
To stay: May 6-8. It’s a hassle, I know, though it’s different every year.

-Prices remain split between seven different publishers. If any of them had won more than one award, the situation would have been intolerable. And necessary human sacrifices.

– Top prize for a lifetime vignette for Daniel Torres. It would be poetic justice to give the award to David Ramírez, but we always have all the pressures that keep making noise until they arrive.

A Friday that is half a Saturday is a Sunday that looks like a full Saturday and Friday. I understand myself.

-This year, there are hardly any artists begging in the aisles to make up for their miserable sales percentage. Although I think it is because they are not actually credited.

-Explain John Allison The wonderful Fandogamy tradition of Saturday night dinners is that all diners have to write a WhatsApp to the author of El Jueves who choose to attend the IMPORTANT AUTHOR’s dinner instead of ours, it reads: “Lovely from Fandogamy, you traitorous bastard”. How cheeky was the elected Julio Serrano, who didn’t even come to dinner with us on Friday this year, report here.

– Reconnect to all Dioxes after two years of skipping.

– The excitement of discovering new talent submitting portfolios for review. My mom got angry.

-No writer set the drink on fire in the middle of the event.

-Young comics writers go a little unnoticed by the general public and the press, probably because comics are something only old people read and will soon disappear once the boomer generation goes to the grave.

-No, seriously, press media, the creator of Giant Days comes to you and there is not even a miserable interview? I don’t know what’s the point of winning two Eisner Awards and having a good comic book when it’s important whether you’re working with Batman, being a writer, illustrator or assistant. I’ve already read seven interviews with Peter Bagge, let’s see, they’re great, but I don’t know what the point of variation is if we’re going to be discussing the same thing LIKE every day forever. It’s not about a specific event, I don’t even know why I’m saying anything. Keep driving, there is nothing to see here.

– He eats regularly. Us because Diana brought us her famous tupperware pasta, otherwise we would have thrown out KFC and Subway all the time. And we, as participants, can enter and exit the hall whenever we want because visitors cannot enter.

– It became a recurring joke that on festival days, they set the goal of a popular marathon just before the event. The downside of the Montjuïch region being a tourist attraction is that it is a tourist attraction.

– There are almost no people in masks. Covid free bar. I’m not saying it should always be mandatory, but perhaps breathing on writers during signings had a certain positive effect. Especially in the antigen test 3 days later, the one I gave was positive.

-No writers set fire to the bonzo at the gates of the event.

NOTE: three stars, two 24-hour Pakistani tickets, and a winged muddy emoji.
